Materials List
To make a set of four coasters, you need:
- 4 packs (2 oz. each) of Sculpey polymer clay (1 elephant gray, 1 pewter, and 2 pearl)
- 2 packs (2 oz. each) of Premo! polymer clay in white (I prefer the Premo! white because it's brighter than the Scupley white)
- 80-grit sandpaper
- a snap blade or X-Acto knife
- a small, soft paintbrush
- metallic gold paint
- a rolling pin

Warm up one package of white clay by rolling it between your palms. Then, take a pinch of gray or pearl clay and add it to the white clay ball.
The white clay will serve as your base for this project — you always want to have a higher white-to-gray ratio so that those dark marble streaks really stand out.

Mix the gray and pearl clays into the white clay by twisting the clay in your hands.
If you want darker, more dramatic marble streaks, add more elephant gray. If you're looking for a lighter, more shimmery look, add more pearl. The look is up to you — you can't mess this up.
