Here's How I Actually Deleted 12,177 Unread Emails

And no, you don’t just use “Delete All.”

Hi, My name is Jess and I have a problem.

The problem is that I have about 12 thousand unread emails too many. And that's just in my personal inbox.

But then I discovered this Apple Mail swipe trick that made deleting my email seem (almost) like a game.

For some reason, the default when you left-swipe in Apple Mail is to move the message to archive instead of to the trash. But you can change that!!!!

Archive is a super useful tool for organizing email but it shouldn't be the DEFAULT for messages you want to get rid of quickly.

First, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
