“I don’t mean to be a feminist bitch but I think your sexist jokes are boring.”
An anonymous artist, known online as Ambivalently Yours, is creating illustrations that are equal parts pretty and badass.
Her work, which is always set against a pastel pink background, has a fiercely feminist tone, presenting the thoughts most women have had at some point in their lives.

Working in fashion, the artist behind AY started her project as a way to criticise the industry that was paying her wage — hence the initial need to work under a pseudonym.
"Later, I realised that my anonymity allowed for people to find themselves in the lack of specificity of my online persona. People often assume that I live in their country, or that I am their age or attribute me with any other form of similarity they are looking for," the artist told BuzzFeed Life.
Summing up her work as "feminist rants, questionable advice and too much pink" the illustrations aim to represent the contradictions felt by many feminists who like to surround themselves with pastel, pretty things.
The artist told BuzzFeed Life that her own ~feminist awakening~ came at grad school.
"At work, I was the feminist killjoy every time I raised a concern about the sexist undertones in our campaigns, and in art school I was the fashion girl who many assumed was duped by the patriarchy just because I liked cute clothes and girly colours," she explained.
