The bowl, located in Dimjalla skate park, was painted by local skaters and BMX riders, who were tired of the bowl's old graffiti and paint, which hadn't been touched in around six years.
Mount Gambier local, 22-year-old Brad Wright told BuzzFeed Life that he started a Facebook group, suggesting all the park regulars brainstorm some design ideas, and chip in any money they could afford, to give the spot a new look. "In the end there were between 20 and 30 people who helped paint and contributed money," said Wright.

The entire painting process took around 12 hours, and reactions to the finished bowl have been damn positive.
"The only negativity I've read online are concerns over slipperiness, which, as anyone who has ever skated or ridden this rough, old bowl would know, is not a big issue," said Wright. "If anyone really does have any concerns I encourage them to come down and have a skate with us."
